Unexpected Joy
Digital photograph. This photo was taken atop the Cloud Peak Wilderness at the Seven Brothers lakes in Wyoming. I like the way the perspective seems off - the eye wants to keep turning the photo. When I was little, I saw a photo used in an Onida ad of a pink flower growing out of gray cement or asphalt. I ripped it out of the magazine and put it up on my cork board wall space. It spoke of hope, and whenever I see plants coming out of rock, I get a feeling of hope.
